FPGA and Magmio: Performance and Flexibility in HFT.

Imagine you have to choose a boat and you have two options. A more flexible but smaller and slower sailboat, or a faster, larger but more cumbersome ocean liner. Each option has its pros and cons. Now, imagine you have a third option, a fast, medium-sized, and very well-manageable motorboat. If you need speed and good maneuverability, the choice is quite clear.

Similarly, this can be applied to trading on CPU, ASIC, and FPGA. With FPGA chips combined with Magmio, you get enormous performance and ultra-low latency while maintaining very good programmability. And then you find out that it pays off, trading becomes profitable, and you actually enjoy it.
